As Telugu star Ravi Teja’s much awaited movie, Kick 2 is gearing up for release, there are talks about Kick 3 already cropping up. Ravi said, “If everything works, there will be Kick3.”
The actor fondly referred to as ‘Mass Maharaja’ also feels that Kick 2 and Baahubali 2 will be flagship films of the Telugu industry to bring in the franchise culture. “I’m confident that Baahubali 2 and Kick 2 will pave way to more franchise-based films. This is just the beginning of the trend,” said Ravi. Reiterating the importance of a good writer, “It’s a misconception that you make a second film in a franchise because the first one was successful. A writer has a very important role in building a successful franchise, and one of the reasons why Kick 2 even happened is because of our writer (Vakkantham) Vamsi.”
Kick 2 was postponed to avoid clash with Baahubali and Srimanthudu. Ravi Teja promises Kick 2 to be bigger and more entertaining than Kick that released in 2009. The movie, directed by Surender Reddy also stars Rakul Preet Singh, Rajpal Yadav, Ravi Kishan and Kabir Duhan Singh.
