Thoongavanam/ Cheekati Rajyam – Kamal Hassan’s Tamil-Telugu bilingual with debutant director Rajesh M Selva has raised expectations from across the two states after his successful outing in Papanasam (Tamil remake of Drishyam). The racy trailer revealed a super-stylish Kamal, a sleek-looking Trisha, a cool Prakash Raj and more stars giving a sneak peak into what looks likes a family-based crime thriller. The music by Gibran added to the feverish pace set by Editor Sham Mohammed.
Working on a fresh look
While the actors had their lips sealed about the storyline, actor Yugi Sethu revealed about how Kamal was painstakingly involved in every process including his haircut! The director was all praise for costume designer Gautami Tadimalla whom he felt had worked on the entire look of the film and not just the actors’ costume. Gautami in turned praised the film’s heroine Trisha for letting her rework her complete look.
Shooting with breezy tech
The director also revealed that shooting the film was a breeze with the 360 degree lighting. The lighting allowed him to shoot from any angle in the set, he added. While the entire crew including the director heaped praises on the legendary Kamal Hassan, actor Yugi sethu also informed us about how Kamal helped even in the dubbing process with re-wrap techniques and so on.
Kamal ended the glossy affair by revealing that Rajkamal productions is busy working on their next project. Wishing the living legend and his team a grand success!
