Its matter of great pride when a Tamil film is heaped with international accailm and awards. Kanavu Variyam is one such gem, the movie has won two pretigious Remi awards in the 49th WorldFest Houston International and is heading to Shangai International Film festival next. The movie is directed by Arun Chidambaram who finished his masters in the US and worked at JP Morgan, but all this could not dull his passion for cinema.

To follow his dream he left Chicago for Chennai and based his debut on Tamil Nadu’s rural electric power crisis. The film has new comers in lead and a highlight of the movie is Kalla Manna, a song from the film composed by Shyam Benjamin . It will portray fifty one buried traditional games of Tamilnadu in which more than 100 kids have acted.
