History repeats after 50 long years. The double Oscar award winner, A R Rahman whose international award tally includes two Grammy awards, one BAFTA and one Golden Globe will be performing at the United Nations Organisation to mark India 70th Independence day. The last time an Indian who performed was carnatic legend, M S Subbulakshmi who performed there in October 1966.

It’s Jai Ho time for the gifted musician. On the work front, his next releases are Hindi flick Mohenjo-Daro and Gautham Menon’s Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo /Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada. He currently working on the score of Sachin’s biopic ,OK Kanmani’s Hindi remake OK Jaanu, his home production – 99 Songs, Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai, Shankar’s 2.0 and Sundar C ‘s Magnum opus Sangamitra.
