The pretty heroine CHANDINI seems to be on a signing spree. After Vil Ambu, her career seems to be on the rise, with as many of 12 films being in her kitty at the moment. In a chat with the actor, we discover that in her upcoming releases, there are many things she has done for the first time.
“Life has certainly changed after my role in Vil Ambu. People noticed my performance and my phone hasn’t stopped ringing. I currently have 12 films that I’m doing at the moment. It’s a very exciting phase of my career,” beams Chandini. “In some of the movies I am doing stuff that I haven’t tried before.”
In Katappa Va Kaanom, Chandini has forayed into comedy for the first time. “Mine is an extended cameo in the film. I appear for around 25 minutes but it’s a very well written character of an air hostess. It’s my character who brings Katappa into the story. We did an extensive research before zeroing in on my look. I had to tone up and look fitter for the part of an airhostess,” she recalls.
In Naan Avalai Sandhitthabodhu with Santosh, she plays a traditional girl in a very intense performance. “Again its something different for me as i’m playing a village girl for the first time and that too, from the 80s,” she reveals.
Apart from Kadhal Munnetra Kazhagam with Pandiaraj’s son Prithvi, Chandini is part of Mannar Vaghera with Vemal. In Kannala Kaasu Kaatappa she plays a pub singer for the first time. “In this film I’m going totally glam for the first time. I have a solo song as well. Arvind Akash and Aswathi are part of the cast. The film was shot in Malaysia and will release soon.”
Chandini will also be seen in Ennodu Vilaiyadu. “Apart from these which I have shot for, I have 6 films under production. I’ve been getting lots of offers with a variety of scripts, which is very satisfying as an actor,” she concludes.
