Malayalam cinema is currently in revival ,moving aside from the usual masala and mafia kind of movies of the 90s. Movies about simple people and their simple stories are a rage, like Biju Menon’s Vellimoonga or Jude Antony Joseph’s Oru Muttassi Gadha. One such heart warming tale will be Olappeeppi, which is about an ordinary Malayali family and the changes in the socio-economic scene in Kerala from 1970’s to the 2000’s through the eyes of a small boy, Unni and his grandmother.

Olappeeppi - a simple tale about the simple things in life

Making her comeback after 47 years is Punnassery Kanchana, a popular artist from the 70s. She plays the lead role along with Biju Menon, Paris Laxmi as Biju Menon’s wife Helena, Sreejith Ravi, Sethulekshmi and Anjali Aneesh.

Olapeeppi is produced by Sunil Ibrahim under the banner of Vibezon Movies and will hit the screens this weekend.
