Southern hearththrob SURIYA is gearing up for the release of Singam 3 soon. In the meanwhile, he has started shoot for his next, Thaana Serndha Kootam(TSK). Soon after, the actor will be teaming up with none other than the maverick director Selvaraghavan, brother of actor Dhanush. Selvaraghavan is known for his out -of- the- box thinking and cult films which have gathered a strong fan base over the years. His themes range from coming-of-age flicks to action, fantasy adventure. In a chat with Suriya, we discover why the Singam star is excited to work with him.
The film will be bankrolled by Dream Warriors and shooting will start once Suriya completes TSK. To be made in Tamil and Telugu, the film is touted to be an action flick with a mix of sentiments and romance but will have the unique Selvaraghavan touch. Here’s what Suriya says about this exciting project, “Selvaraghavan is a master of his craft. We have been wanting to work together for a long time and I am glad its finally happening. The film will be a blend of many things and will certainly be something I have never done before. The best of audience expectations from both Selvaraghavan and me , will be met in this film.”
Suriya is known to be passionate about his work, going to any extent to change himself for a role, making him a director’s delight. The rare combination of a mass star and strong performer like Suriya with Selvaraghavan, a maker of cult classics, has got fans of both, very excited. Suriya it would seem, is looking forward to exploring all the possibilities of this melange, “I admire Selva for many reasons. His range is so varied, he never sticks to any one genre. From 7G Rainbow Colony to Pudhupettai and Ayirathil Oruvan, you can see he’s not dependant on just one forte, but explores many genres. He has the unique ability to make newcomers and non-actors, perform on par with established actors. His dialogues are unique and stand the test of time. In fact, technicians from every film craft want to work with him! For my part, I am hoping that Selvaraghavan will push me out of my comfort zone. I will try my best not to be Suriya on screen.”
The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalised.
