If sources are to be believed then, Vijay’s Mersel is queued up for censors. The film is expected to clear censors in the next few days. The film is scheduled to hit screens on October 18 for Diwali.

Before the release though it has to cross a few hurdles on the way. The case against the film’s title is up for hearing today. Sri Thenandal are hoping for a positive result.

Another big issue is the ongoing Tamil Nadu Films producers strike. No new releases will be screened in theatres till the government rolls back the local entertainment tax of 10% in addition to GST. Though many hope that the strike will end before the film’s release, there are doubts.
