‘Savarakathi’ written by Mysskin and directed G.R.Adithya, is expected to hit the screens in February 2018. The film stars Director Ram and Poorna in the lead roles, whereas Mysskin will also be seen in a pivotal role. At the press meet of ‘Savarakathi’, Director Mysskin spoke about his love for films and the experience of enjoying a film at theatre.
He said, “The buyers of this film wanted it to be marketed as a Mysskin film. They believed that it will help for the film’s business. But, I have no faith in such things. I have never believed in or never did something like ‘A film by Mysskin’ or ‘A Mysskin’s movie’ in the title card in my films. But, when the producer and buyers wanted it to be as an identity for the film, I could not resist. I wish that I and my films are spoken about even after 50 years of my death.
‘Savarakathi’ is a good film. I am not going to request you all to watch it only in theatres because I know that some of you will watch it online. Let Tamilrockers release this film as well. That is their job, let them do it. Let us all do our job. Watching a film in the theatre along with hundreds of people is a communal event. It has been a stirring experience for me, watching MGR, Sivaji and Ilaiyaraaja films in theatres. That is how the legends like MGR & Sivaji are still alive even after their death. That is how I am living happily today. We might have attempted suicide, if at all there were no M.G.R, Sivaji, Rajinikanth or Kamal hassan. There would have been no meaning for this life. Thousands of people work very hard to make a film. We should not steal the product and watch it. 90% of audience watch films in theatre; they feel that ears are to hear stories only. After God, we look up and watch cinema, so let us enjoy the experience.”
