Karthick Naren left everyone stunned with his ‘Dhruvangal 16’ starring Rahman of ‘Vaamanan’ and ‘Billa’ fame. His work saw him attracting the attention of Gautham Vasudev Menon known for his films of a different and distinct caliber.
Gautham Menon or GVM as he is known, stepped up to produce Karthick Naren’s next project, ‘Naragasooran’ and has openly praised him for a ‘killer’ script and speed in execution. But trouble seems to be brewing in paradise.
Yesterday, Karthick Naren took to Twitter to proclaim without naming names that he was cheated!
Sometimes a misplaced trust may kill you. People should think twice before taking it for a ride. The last thing you want to see is your passion getting butchered from all the directions for a mistake you did not commit. Threshold!

And the veteran director had responded by commenting, ‘While young filmmakers whine about their passion being butchered instead of growing a pair…” and went on to compliment a beautiful animated short film on girls, liberation, cricket and CSK.
Karthick responded to it directly:
While everybody advised against it I had the pair to trust you & collaborate sir. In return we were treated like trash & made to invest on our own. I think its better to whine & confront instead of running away. Please don't do this to any other young filmmaker sir. It hurts! https://t.co/05b4v7eSXg

Reports indicate that issue stems from the fact that while GVM’s Ondraga banner is associated with ‘Naragasooran’, GVM hasn’t invested in the film and has gone ahead and borrowed money pledging Naragasooran and invested in his own films – ‘Dhruva Natchathiram’ and ‘Enai Noki Paayum Thota’. Issues with finances because GVM backing out has made Karthick unable to start his next film – ‘Nadaga Medai’.
