Karthik Subbaraj is known for his own special niche of films, starting off with ‘Pizza’ following it up with ‘Jigarthanda’ and ‘Iraivi’. His next project is the now releasing, ‘Mercury’, a no-language, silent thriller film starring Prabhu Deva, Sananth Reddy, Deepak Paramesh, Anish Padman, Shashank, and Ramya Nambessan, with Prabhu Deva playing the villain.
Earlier to be released on ‘Friday, the 13th April 2018’, the film will premier on the 12th as it has now been made an official entry into the 16th edition of the prestigious Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles. Karthik is reported to saying, “I am extremely honoured that our film Mercury has made it to Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles. It is an extremely prestigious film festival, which is being organised and is in its 16th edition now. Our film premieres’ on 12th April. I think it’s a great platform for moviegoers in LA to experience our cinema.”
Produced jointly by Pen Studios and Stone Bench Films, the film is purportedly based on the Kodaikanal Mercury poisoning, has Santhosh Narayan on the music, a very vital part of any thriller, more so in a silent film.
