After breaking the silence on his long awaited entry into politics, Rajinikanth gave his fans yet another reason to rejoice when he officially announced that he will be contesting in the forthcoming elections in all of the 234 constituencies in Tamilnadu. In keeping with his routine of visiting the Himalayas before making any big decision, the star started on his holy pilgrimage on March 10.

Latest update on the political front is that Rajinikanth will officially announce the name of his political party and also reveal the party flag on April 14th, Tamil New Year’s day. It was also disclosed that the flag has been chosen, but the name of the party is still to be finalized among the 10 shortlisted names. A huge political meeting is planned on being held in Trichy or Chennai to make this announcement.

On the career front, Rajinikanth has ‘Kaala’ under director Pa Ranjith and an untitled film under the direction of Karthik Subbaraj in pipeline; Shankar’s ‘2.0’ is now in its post production stage and is expected to hit the screens on April 27th.
