The Tamil Nadu Film Production Council (TNFPC) strike has been going on for 3 weeks now and has lead to a total shut down of the Tamil Nadu Film industry. While All four South Indian film industries went on a strike from March 1, the Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam industries have agreed on the 25-35% reduction, the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council has not agreed to the new, reduced rates, stalling all cine activity.

The latest update is that TFPC members and Theatre owners association have had a long discussion, after which actor Vishal, addressed the media.

“We discussed for over 6 hours in details about the demands of producers and industry. We believe that things are proceeding in the right path. If everything goes as planned, we will come up with a final solution to all problems in the next 2 or 3 days,” said Vishal, the president of Tamil Film Producer Council.

Here’s to hoping that the issue is solved soon and we can finally see several films that are yet to hit the screens prominent among these include, Superstar’s‘Kaala’, Kamal’s ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ Vishal’s very own ‘Irumbu Thirai’ and many more.
