‘Imsai Arasan 24 am Pulikesi’ has been in rough waters ever since the lead artist Vadivelu and director Chimbudevan faced a lot of difference in opinions. Trouble started when Vadivelu was apparently not satisfied with the costumes and insisted on having his own costume designer in the team. The rift widened and Vadivelu stopped coming for the shoots. This led to a multi crore loss due to the expenses incurred in construction of the grand sets.

After vain attempts to convince Vadivelu to return for shooting, producer Shankar filed a complaint against the actor in the film council. Accordingly, the film council issued Vadivelu an ultimatum to repay the advance and reimburse the losses incurred to the tune of 9 crores.

Subsequently, Vadivelu relented and spoke to TNFC President Naassar promising to return for shoots regularly. In turn, this was communicated to producer Shankar and the issue has been resolved amicably.
