Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming ‘Kaala’ has everyone antsy with anticipation. The trilingual film(Tamil, Telugu and Hindi) under director Pa. Ranjith’s helm is centred around, ‘Karikaalan’ a slum lord turned gangster. This is Superstar’s second film with the director, his first being, ‘Kabali’, another gangster film, that took the world by the storm.

With the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council’s strike continuing, the possibility of the film release date – April 27, being postponed increases and Lyca Productions that have the distribution rights stand by the TNFPC and tweeted the same recently, “We are in sync with the Producers Council and in complete support of the demands. We will comply with the same till the system is rectified.”

The highly anticipated film has reportedly received ‘U/A’ certificate from the censor board and has 14 cuts in the film. Produced by Dhanush’s ‘Wunderbar Films Pvt Ltd.’, The film stars Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi, actor-director Samudrakani, Eswari Rao and a host of others with veteran actor Nana Patekar as the antagonist in white.

Word with reliable sources has, however, revealed that the film has yet to go to the censor board. “It’s only a rumour spreading, the film hasn’t yet gone to the censor”
