News came last week that Atlee directed Mersal has been awarded U/A. However the CBFC has denied certifying the film. They have said that the production house is yet to furnish NOC from Animal welfare board for the animals used in the film.

The issue is set to be resolved today and the final verdict from CBFC will be learnt soon.

Meanwhile the producers have approached the High court to ban illegal piracy sites from streaming Mersal. The court has banned 37 sited from illegally streaming Mersal.
