Vijay’s Adirindhi released today in the two Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The film’s Tamil version Mersal released on October 18 and after many delays and postponements the Telugu version finally hit screens.
The film has been given a warm welcome and is running to full theatres. However the dialogues which gave the movie National notoriety have been muted. The GST scenes have not been chopped off but have been muted. Many fans on social media have commented that this may be the longest mute in Telugu cinema.
Vijay plays a triple role in the film and has a loyal fan following. All three heroines – Samantha, Kajal Aggarwal and Nithya Menon are very popular in Tollywood. This should bring in the fans and rake in good numbers. The film is distributed by Sharath Marar.
